Policies and Procedures


Attendance
  • There are no excused absences; students are either present or absent.
  • A student who is absent six (6) consecutive days will be withdrawn.
  • If a student receives six (6) absences over a 9-week period or if his/her cumulative attended, as measured by the ratio of clock hours attended to clock hours scheduled, falls below 83%, the student will be placed on Attendance Probation for thirty (30) days.
  • While on Attendance Probation, the student may not have more than two (2) absences. 
    • Students failing to maintain satisfactory attendance while on Attendance Probation may face an administrative withdrawal.
  • Any student who withdraws while on Attendance Probation will be required to complete unserved Probation time upon re-enrollment.
  • Students receiving financial aid are subject to the rules and terms of the individual financial aid program.
  • If a student is withdrawn voluntarily, he/she must wait 30 calendar days to re-enroll, if space is available, and will be required to pay another $20 application fee. 
    • If a student withdraws a second time, he/she must wait until the next school year to re-enroll.


Grievance Procedure
  • Contact the Instructor.
  • If grievance is with instructor, contact administration.
  • If grievance is general interest, it may be presented at the next Student Advisory Council meeting
  • Memorandum of record will be prepared if grievance is resolved and placed in student folder
  • Not resolved - Student may file formal grievance with an Appeals Board made up of an administrator, counselor, instructor and an officer from the Student Advisory Council. Must be submitted in writing and state previous attempts to resolve situation.
  • The Appeals Board has ten (10) working days to prepare a written recommendation.
  • Guidance counselor will provide recommendation to the student.
  • If not resolved, student may contact appropriate School District personnel.
